A depressed student nurse took her own life shortly after breaking up with her boyfriend. The young nurse strangled herself at her student home in London , an inquest heard.
The second-year Liverpool John Moores University nursing student, originally from Kidderminster, had recently broken up with her boyfriend, and had a history of anxiety and depression, the Liverpool Echo reports.
She had sent a tragic message to her ex just before she died, telling him “I just want it to end, I want it to end“, the coroner’s investigating officer said.
Anita Bhardwaj, area coroner for Liverpool and Wirral, recorded that Lucy had taken her own life at today’s inquest at the Gerard Majella Courthouse.
A forensic pathology registrar told the hearing Lucy died of asphyxiation, but had also overdosed on painkillers not long before her death.
He said the overdose could have proved fatal, but she died before they could do any damage to her body.
He also said there were no signs anyone else may have been involved.
